Good work environment during construction
Apply by answering five questions below.
We invite advisors, entrepreneurs, work environment specialists, planning and design tool developers, building material trading platforms and home improvement retailers to submit takes on commercial solutions which create good working environments during construction.
The pandemic has given developers and related businesses in the field insights into work processes, work environment and adaptability during the pandemic. Rarely has such a high focus been on work environment coordinators on building sites all over the country as when Denmark closed to limit the spread of COVID and organizations in the field sent workers home. How could construction continue while serious illness among workers avoided. This gave the building industry a needed opportunity to rethink health and risk aspects regarding the way we build.
New special initiatives were introduced such as dividing builders into teams on the building site, using digital tools, adapted time schedules and better planning of work responsibilities. Moreover, they invested in extra cleaning, better conditions, and special health measures. The conditions for foreign workers were also looked through. All of this contributed to better conditions for productive work environments.
Therefore, we wish to support solutions which can hold on to the good experiences with high focus on work environment and thereby enhance productivity and quality during construction. The solutions must be scalable and add value also in non-pandemic times.
The type of solutions we are looking for:
- Design tools for the planning phase which allow for screening constructional occupational health and safety considerations
- New planning and management tools
- Technical solutions and assistive devices which enhance the individual builders work environment
- Processes and tools which strengthen across distance social relations and communal problem solving
- Management processes and tools for creating safety cultures and strategies in organizations
